The area is surrounded on the north by the mount of Kouroupas, which provides many opportunities for walk trips, and on the south by the Libyan Sea. The coast includes several beaches, each with |

its own identity. The Plakias beach is long, the Damnoni beach is short but with a unique comfy sand and the Souda beach is sheltered from winds. Locally, like in the rest of Crete someone can find restaurants everywhere. In Crete the visitors can familiarise themselves with the first great European civilisation (Minoans), and enjoy the natural beauties of thousand beaches and high mountains with deep and long gorges such as the Samaria’s. |
